Tickets Are Selling Out Fast for the King of Country Music’s Final Tour Country music’s best team up again for the new Cowboy Rides Away Tour: George Strait & Martina McBride set to kick off in Lubbock, Texas on January 18, 2013.
Country music fans are in for a two-year bittersweet treat beginning in January of the new year. The King of Country Music, George Strait, has scheduled his last tour and will be joined by Martina McBride who will be his opening act. The tour will be opening in Texas with dates running through 2014. Currently the Cowboy Rides Away Tour 2013 dates show twenty-one different venues in several states with more shows to be put on the schedule at a later time.
George Strait has stated publicly in the past that when he reached the age of 60, he would consider retiring from touring. After reaching the milestone this past May, he decided that the Cowboy Rides Away Tour: George Strait & Martina McBride would be the perfect way to say farewell. By extending the tour over two years, he will be able to reach as many fans in as many places as possible. George won’t be giving up on music altogether as he will continue to record new music and make new albums.
Some advice for fans who want to be part of country music history by attending the farewell tour 2013 is that they need to hurry. Concert tickets are selling fast for all dates on the schedule and tickets have completely sold out in many of the venues through official ticket vendors. Fans who were unable to purchase tickets for the first round of the tour may still be able to see the show, but will have to wait. Once the schedule is set for the second leg of the tour, concert tickets will go on sale again.
This isn’t the first time that the Strait & Martina McBride have teamed up for a tour. They have worked together in the past and have recently come off of a sold-out twelve concert tour in 2012. As for the farewell tour, Strait has hinted that there are some surprises in store for concert-goers that may not be announced in advance. Guest artists are slated to perform for single concerts throughout the tour, with Miranda Lambert and the Randy Rogers Band among them. The two-year extravaganza is expected to be an emotionally charged, exciting tribute full of hits from two of the most beloved icons in country music.
